SPOR Cultivation is a Western Australian regenerative agriculture project focused on building healthier soils, stronger plants and more self-reliant farming systems.
We bring together Korean Natural Farming (KNF), JADAM, syntropic agroforestry, biochar, soil biology, organic cultivation and integrated pest management to explore a simple idea:
What if the farm could produce more of what it needs itself?
Rather than relying entirely on purchased fertilisers, pesticides and external inputs, SPOR looks at how growers can use biology, biomass, microorganisms and locally available resources to build fertility within the farm.
WHAT DOES SPOR MEAN?
S — SOIL
Build the foundation.
Soil isn't simply something plants stand in.
It is a living system containing minerals, organic matter, water, air, microorganisms, fungi, roots and countless biological interactions.

Understand the plant.
Plants change throughout their life cycle.

SPOR explores biological and regenerative approaches to plant nutrition that consider:

Bacteria, fungi, insects, worms, plants, animals and microorganisms form interconnected ecological communities.
SPOR explores ways of encouraging beneficial biological relationships through:

R — REGENERATION
Leave the system better than we found it.
Agriculture removes nutrients and biomass from the land.
Regenerative agriculture asks how those resources can be rebuilt and cycled back through the system.
SPOR focuses on:

The goal is continuous improvement.

WHY SPOR EXISTS
Modern agriculture can be extraordinarily productive.
But productive farming can also become dependent on increasingly complex chains of fertilisers, chemicals, fuel, machinery and imported resources.
SPOR is interested in another question:
How much of a farm's fertility can be produced on the farm itself?
A plant becomes biomass.
Biomass can become compost, mulch, fermentation material or biochar.
Those materials can support microorganisms.
Microorganisms contribute to nutrient cycling.
Healthy soil supports plants.
Plants produce more biomass.
And the cycle begins again.

BUILT FOR AUSTRALIAN CONDITIONS
LOCAL CONDITIONS MATTER.
Many regenerative farming techniques originate in environments very different from Australia.
A technique that works in humid tropical soil cannot simply be assumed to behave identically in a dry Mediterranean climate.
Western Australian growers can face:
